‘Health and safety – red tape or radical?’ is the theme of IOSH’s 2005
diamond jubilee conference and exhibition, and will seek to address some of the
many challenging issues currently facing health and safety professionals across
the globe.
IOSH’s organising committee would like to hear from anyone with ideas for
potential topics, speakers and other contributions to the conference programme.
The committee is calling for papers on a variety of subjects of contemporary
interest in health, safety and environment, including:
– Public safety
– Global competitiveness
– Environment issues influencing industry
– Large international organisations’ influence on the working environment in
the developing world
If you wish to be considered as a presenter at the conference, you are
invited to submit an abstract of your work to Kate Pallett, special events
co-ordinator, PR department, IOSH, The Grange, Highfield Drive, Wigston,
Leicestershire LE18 1NN, or e-mail [email protected]
The abstract must be typed and include the following:
– title of the paper
– name of the author, organisation, city and country
– a concise statement of aims, results and conclusions

All abstracts must be received by 30 June 2004.
Presenting authors will be notified of receipt, and notification of
acceptance of the abstract submitted will be sent to the authorÊin August.
Other proposals for contributions to the event should also be sent in writing
to Kate by 30 June 2004.
