The importance of honouring a verbal job offer has been reinforced by rugby
star Joel Stransky who has successfully sued Bristol Rugby Club for breach of
contract.
Stransky was awarded £151,025 after the High Court found the former
Springbok had been offered a job as Bristol RFC’s backs coach following a
conversation with then-chief executive Nick De Scossa.

Stransky claimed they shook hands on the deal and subsequently handed in his
notice at Leicester RFC.
However, when he visited the Bristol team the day before he was due to
start, he discovered that he was not being offered the position after all.
