Business secretary Vince Cable has criticised the bonus culture at large banks, claiming that extra cash should be reaching small businesses and not just high-performing employees.

A Telegraph report added that Cable believes that the Government must clamp down on those banks that are keen to pay out large bonuses to employees, while cutting off their supply to UK businesses.
The latest figures from the Bank of England showed lending to businesses fell for a fifth consecutive month in July.
