Wright Solutions to host training forum

by Personnel Today 2 Oct 2007
by Personnel Today 2 Oct 2007

Wright Solutions, the Midlands’ leading training and HR recruitment specialists, are to host a ground-breaking learning forum designed to get training directors, managers and heads of department thinking about the future of learning and development.

Entitled “Future Now!” the free-to-attend event will take place over breakfast at the Institute of Directors’ Birmingham offices on November 16th. It will provide an invaluable insight into how the delivery of training may change in the future and presents a unique opportunity for senior training executives to exchange views on Learning Communities and the much hyped ‘Generation Y’. Interactive technologies will be to the fore.

Paul Wright, managing director of Wright Solutions explained “training professionals really need to be thinking very carefully about how they will design and deliver training in the future. The idea of the learning forum is to kick start this process. We want to debate the future role of technology in learning and development and how, as training professionals, we have to adapt. We’ll start by looking at learning communities and how they can be used to enable training professionals and delegates alike to share information and interact with their peers”.

As many are aware, the learning preferences of ‘Generation Y’ are challenging traditional methods.  Wright continued “like me, people in their forties have had to integrate computers and the Internet into their working lives. However, the younger generation have very much grown up with technology. It is therefore important to question whether traditional classroom based training is the most effective vehicle for this audience or indeed, whether more creative and interactive e-learning and computer based training can play a greater role”.

The event has been designed specifically for senior training executives working within blue chip organisations. Complimentary places have already been reserved by a number of leading employers including RoadChef, Forensic Science Service, Coventry Building Society, Halfords and GVA Grimley.

Wright added “we have had a great response to the forum and are now looking for around 20 more delegates to attend. The fact that Doug Miller, the renowned motivational trainer, writer and positive thinking expert will be speaking at the event adds a further dimension. Nobody knows for sure what the future holds but we can guarantee that everyone who attends will leave having plenty to think about!”

Free places at “Future Now!” can be reserved by contacting Wright Solutions on 0121 687 4040. Wright Solutions provides a uniquely integrated range of corporate training and HR recruitment services.
