The biggest regional variation in occupational health salaries is for OH advisers (OHAs), with salaries around the country differing by as much as nearly £4,000 a year, according to latest research.
The annual statistics from specialist recruiter OH Recruitment show that OHAs in London, and working within the M25, are paid an average of £35,284, compared with £31,560 in Scotland. The regional differences are less for senior OHAs, ranging from £38,550 in London to £36,847 in Scotland.
However, they widen again for OH managers, where the salary level varies from £43,663 in London to £41,027 in Scotland.
But as a whole regional salary differentiation is, if anything, narrowing, argued the recruitment firm.
“Currently across the UK there is not much of a variation between regions.

“However it is noticed that Scotland averagely pays the lowest wages and London pays the highest,” it said.
The figures were compiled from an analysis of 200 permanent placements made between September 2008 and August this year.
