Thomas Cook travel agency staff in Dublin have been arrested for staging a sit-in to protest over the closure of branches, the BBC has reported.
Twenty staff were arrested this morning after refusing to leave the offices in Grafton Street, although a court order had been issued.
The workers, who have been staging a sit-in since Friday (31 July), are demanding an improved redundancy package. They are due in court later today.
The travel agent announced plans to close two Thomas Cook branches and a Direct Holidays outlet, which will remain open until the end of the summer.
Almost 80 jobs will be lost, but the closures will not affect operations in Northern Ireland.
Vestas dispute continues
Meanwhile another sit-in by sacked workers continues on the Isle of Wight, where 11 employees have occupied the Vestas wind-turbine factory in Newport for the past fortnight.

The Vestas protests have spread to a second factory at Cowes, where activists are vowing to stay on the roof of the plant until sacked Newport workers are reinstated, the Guardian has reported.
The Newport protesters face a second court hearing to end the occupation today, amid allegations from supporters that attempts to get food to the protesters are being blocked.
