There can’t be much wrong with a book that uses Inspector Morse and his sidekick Lewis, not to mention The A-Team’s Face and Mr T, as examples of effective negotiating. Oliver’s advice is very practical – there’s a whole chapter of do’s and don’ts – and, crucially, he begins by defining negotiation, pointing out that it is not just about selling, but can cover relationships and communication.
