by Personnel Today 22 Oct 2008

Gradcracker, the graduate recruitment website exclusively for engineering students, has had a storming first year. Nearly 100 of the UKʼs top employers of graduate engineers advertise on the site and many of them are so delighted with both the quality and quantity of applicants that they have signed up with gradcracker until as far ahead as 2010.

Gradcracker has received nearly 75,000 unique visitors and now has an average of almost 700 visits each day. September 2008 was a record-breaking month with one single day having received almost 1,000 visits.

Gradcrackerʼs University Liaison Team has sent thousands of gradcracker t-shirts to universities throughout the UK, and over 5,000 engineering students have registered on the site. Gradcracker also maintains a strong presence in universities of engineering excellence by attending careers fairs. In the next few weeks, gradcracker is exhibiting at 12 such fairs across the length and breadth of the UK.

Gradcracker advertisers have received a combined total of nearly 120,000 visits to their own company websites direct from gradcracker.com and employer feedback about applicants is very positive, the following being a small example of the comments Gradcracker has received:

“I’ve said it before but I’m really impressed with the site and the work you’re doing on it…I think other sites could use yours as a benchmark!!”

Andrew Renouf, Corus

“Out of 17 applications (in 1 month) we invited 15 for the 1st interview – they are great candidates.”

Sabina Marszal, Maersk Drilling, Copenhagen

“We have noticed a significant increase in both the quantity and quality of graduate chemical engineers applying to our graduate scheme since advertising on your website.”

Ruth Ellway, Croda

“I’ve certainly noticed the influx in responses in the last couple of days! We’ve had masses of applications off the back of Gradcracker.”

Gail Lazenby, Cundall

Gradcracker Director, Sean OʼConnor, tells us “The whole gradcracker team is absolutely delighted at what gradcracker has achieved in

its first year. The feedback we are receiving from employers, universities and students is excellent and we are constantly developing the
