Advanced Business Solutions’ electronic payslips module wins prestigious environmental award

by Personnel Today 25 Nov 2010

Advanced Business Solutions (ABS), formerly COA Solutions, has been presented with a gold award at this year’s National Green Apple Environment Awards in recognition of the environmental benefits of its electronic payslips module. ABS’ document management subsidiary, Version One, also won a Green Apple Award for its document management green meter which calculates carbon and paper savings as a direct result of using Version One’s software solutions. The awards ceremony took place at the House of Commons on 15 November 2010.

The National Green Apple Awards, organised by The Green Organisation, recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice and are established as one of the most prestigious environmental award schemes worldwide. This is the third successive year that ABS has won a Green Apple Award after its electronic workflow solution and employee expense management system were winners in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

ABS’ electronic payslips module, which tightly integrates into ABS’ human capital management (HCM) software system, enables employees to receive their payslips (security protected) via email. Replacing paper payslips with electronic payslips considerably reduces paper consumption and carbon emissions, supporting organisations’ green agendas.

Dean Dickinson, Managing Director of Advanced Business Solutions, comments, “Our electronic payslips solution provides organisations with a greener, more sustainable method of issuing pay information. Eradicating the printing, posting, photocopying and filing of paper payslips also cuts time consuming administration and as each paper payslip costs between 50 pence and £1 to produce, switching to electronic payslips also provides considerable cost savings.”
