City West Housing Trust builds iTrent partnership with MidlandHR

MidlandHR has signed its latest client in the housing sector in a five-year contract to provide its fully-integrated HR, payroll and talent management solution iTrent. The solution is due to go live in April 2010 when the Salford-based housing trust moves away from its present outsourced payroll provision which is currently shared with a local authority. The implementation will take place in two phases, with Phase One covering core HR and payroll and Phase Two comprising Employee and Manager Self Service.

City West Housing  Trust currently employs around 450 employees to support its work in owning and managing 14,700 homes in West Salford. Martin Barber, Head of ICT, comments: “Moving away from the shared payroll will give City West Housing  Trust greater autonomy and control over its HR and payroll processes. We have chosen to run our payroll in-house using iTrent because we feel this gives us the best of both worlds, with the independence to run our own payroll but also the external support from MidlandHR which is there if we need it. Using iTrent to run our HR and payroll processes provide the benefits associated with the use of a single system, such as centralising data to present improved visibility of information across the business and greatly reducing repetitive administrative tasks.”

Lawrence Knowles, managing director of MidlandHR, comments: “iTrent will give City West Housing Trust the tools to ensure that its people are paid accurately and on time, whilst providing data which can be used to inform key business decisions instead of just being used for record keeping. When Employee and Manager Self Service go live, employees and managers will take control of their own learning and development, and the HR and payroll teams will be able to focus on strategic goals rather than administration.
