Languages skills shortage is holding businesses back

There is a shortage of multi-lingual graduates and it is affecting the performance of international businesses, claimed the global HR director for IT of PricewaterhouseCoopers at a recent management training conference.

Stephen Boley claimed companies must hire multi-lingual graduates if they are to compete in the global economy.

Speaking at the Community of European Management Schools conference, Boley said, “We are always short of good people who can communicate well. We need people who are flexible. Being able to cross borders and language barriers is crucial.”
