As part of Accor Services’ 20th anniversary celebrations of its introduction of childcare vouchers to UK workplaces, they are delighted to announce a 12-month partnership with Action for Children, the charity that supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK.
The partnership will see Accor Services working with Action for Children to raise at least ÂŁ40,000 over the next year, as well as increasing awareness of the work they do to support vulnerable children and young people.
Accor Services’ employees have been invited and encouraged to offer their time, experience and energy once a quarter to events and initiatives across London supporting the charity. The Accor Services’ annual management away day will also be devoted to Action for Children with the team of 35 managers working on a project in Chester to renovate an allotment.
A charity lunch and auction has also been organised at the Novotel Hammersmith on Friday 04th December 2009 which will further enhance the fundraising opportunities.
Patrick Langlois, Managing Director comments: “As the organisation that introduced childcare vouchers to the UK, the upbringing of children is extremely important to us. We wanted to mark and celebrate this significant anniversary by providing our support to a charity that places children and their wellbeing at the centre of all they do.
“We are therefore delighted to be able to offer our support to Action for Children. They are an incredible charity and we are looking forward to working with them. We hope that our partnership over the coming 12 months will, in some way, help provide vulnerable children and young people across the UK a better life.”
James Thackray, Head of Corporate Fundraising, Action for Children says: “We are delighted to be in partnership with Accor Services and excited about working together in the following year to raise awareness and vital funds to help vulnerable children and young people across the UK.
“This partnership emphasises our shared belief that parents should be given appropriate support so they can help their children reach their full potential. Through our parenting services we work with families to help them develop parenting skills and spend time together. Quality family time is important – childcare vouchers offer not only financial support but a chance to balance work and family life – which is a core value for Action for Children.”
