Alliance Learning are celebrating a landmark anniversary this October having spent an impressive 25 years on the Horwich Loco Estate.
Alliance Learning is holding a day of celebrations to commemorate the occasion on Wednesday 22nd October.
The event will be held at the Horwich site and will be a unique opportunity for Manchester learners, past and present to share stories and memories about their time at Alliance, meet with past and present staff, and view the training centre and also to add keep sakes to the memories board that will be on display at the event.
There will also be opportunities for new, potential students to come and speak to members of Alliance staff and enquiry about Apprenticeships, and other available courses at the centre.
Alliance Learning was formed in 2001 with the merger of the Bolton Training Group and CLEEA Training; it was as Bolton Training Group that the company located to the Horwich Loco Works in October 1983 when British Rail vacated the training centre.
At that time the site contained only the main engineering training centre which has expanded as the company has grown to what we know as today’s Alliance Learning.
The influence of Alliance apprentices is apparent in the local success of former apprentices Paul Taylor and Alex Kitchen; who have acquired great success since leaving Alliance Learning.
Both now run their own Bolton based engineering companies and have gained success based on the skills and training they developed at their time at Alliance.
Paul and Alex are now non-executive voluntary board directors of Alliance Learning and are now putting something back into the company that helped to start their careers.
Speaking about the forthcoming event, former apprentice turned businessman, Paul Taylor commented:

“Alliance gave me secure foundations on which to build my career and it is through this that I have moulded my profession. My relationship with Alliance remains tight and I now delight in the fact that I can help train and advise new apprentices for their future career development.”
Further details about the event itself will follow nearer the time.
