‘Alliance Learning introduces Information Communication Technology (ICT) Programme Led Apprenticeships.’

by Personnel Today 6 Mar 2009
by Personnel Today 6 Mar 2009

Following the launch of National Apprenticeship Week,  Alliance Learning has introduced an exciting new course designed to give prospective learners a head start in their Information & Communication Technology Apprenticeship.

The Programme Led Apprenticeship, due to launch week commencing 9th March, will cover a range of ICT modules and is designed to develop personal attributes as well as allowing candidates to learn, improve and practise the skills required for employment within their chosen industry sector.

Based at the training providers Horwich site, the course will offer 16-24 year olds an Apprenticeship programme that will run for 3 days a week over a 24 week period. During this time learners will be required to take 2 Key Skills exams, Communication and Application of Number, both at Level 1.

This new course addresses the growing need for industry specific apprenticeships, tailored to suit employer’s stringent work ethics.

The Government and The Learning and Skills Council are encouraging more businesses and employers in the local area to get involved with apprenticeship schemes. In a recent populous poll the LSC found 83% of apprentice employers believe apprentices provide a better calibre of job applicant, whilst 79% said they helped raise overall productivity.

Maureen Culshaw, Head of Recruitment at Alliance Learning said:

“We are confident that our programme led apprenticeship course will be a great success, and feel it is very pertinent given the significance placed on ICT in today’s commercial network.

“By addressing skill gaps directly, we can instil essential knowledge into our learners that make an organisation more effective, productive and competitive, forming the foundations for future company growth.”

To apply for this new course you will need to complete and return an application form or alternatively you can apply online at www.alliancelearning.com. For further information or to request your application form please contact us on 01204 677 822.
