North West based training provider, Alliance Learning has launched a new Instructional Techniques course, approved by the Independent Powered Access Federation.
Alliance Learning is one of the largest independent training providers in the North West, with an established reputation and over forty years experience in the training industry.
The company is to provide training in Instructional Techniques, one of the compulsory qualifications needed to enrol on an IPAF Instructor Training Course.
On completion of the course candidates will receive an Alliance Learning certificate, proving their competence in instructional techniques.
The 5-day course in Instructional Techniques aims to provide candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively deliver practical and theoretical training sessions.
The course involves the 3 day ‘Train the Trainer’ course (Institute of Leadership and Management endorsed award) followed by 2 days of practical training at Alliance Learning’s specialised plant training centre.
In order to successfully complete the course, candidates will have to prepare and successfully deliver a 20 minute presentation.
The course covers all aspects of the instructor’s role in training from the learning process, delivering practical demonstrations and constructing training objectives to preparing lesson plans, evaluating teaching methods and assessing candidates’ performance.
Brian Nicholls, Senior Plant Instructor at Alliance Learning comments:
“Alliance Learning have been successfully training personnel in instructional techniques for a number of years, IPAF approached us to tailor our existing course for Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) operators; combining general instructional techniques with the specific requirements of MEWP training. The 5-Day Instructional Techniques course provides the theory behind the learning process and also delivers practical training taught at our purpose built 510sqm specialised plant training centre in Horwich. The course provides essential training for anyone wishing to become an IPAF instructor.”
