First Direct bank has opened the largest corporate workplace nursery in the
UK and hopes it will be a major recruitment and retention tool.
The 300-square metre nursery, has opened at the bank’s main branch in Leeds

Peter Compson, First Direct’s business services director, said the nursery
provided convenience and reassurance to working parents and made the bank an
attractive place to work.
"First Direct benefits because the nursery helps us recruit parents to
work as customer service representatives, bringing their skills and life
experiences to the business," he said. "It also helps us to retain
valued employees after they have a child."
