Bean counter vacancies few and far between

Less
than a quarter of HR managers in the UK are looking to recruit new accountants,
despite research that shows more than half of all financial professionals are
looking for a new job.

Only
16 per cent of UK managers expect to hire new accountants in the next six
months, a trend reflected across Europe.

A
poll of more than 1,550 HR managers in nine countries found that 83 per cent
were not expecting to increase staffing levels, although just 5 per cent said
they would reduce them.

However,
a separate study of more than 5,000 HR professionals by Robert Half International,
discovered that 58 per cent of financial staff are seeking new roles.
