Bradford & Bingley uses Application Lynx to implement Oracle Self-Service Solution

by Personnel Today 12 Jun 2008

Application Lynx – a leading provider of HR & Payroll solutions – is pleased to announce the successful implementation of the Oracle Human Capital Management solution, part of the Oracle E-Business Suite at Bradford & Bingley.

The project was implemented in 35 days and the final module went live in January 2008.

The project involved the implementation of the Oracle E-Business Suite Human Capital Management HR Self Service, Learning Management, and Daily Business Intelligence functions to enable Bradford & Bingley’s HR department to support the HR business requirements for over 3,000 staff across the UK.

The project includes Oracle Learning Management – also part of the Oracle E-Business Suite – that went live in just 38 days.

This was facilitated through use of the Oracle Accelerate solution, which allows rapid deployment of Oracle Applications.

The overall project encompasses:

·         Employee information changes

·         Payroll updates

·         Employment/Job description & position role changes

·         Life change updates

·         Training management

·         Organisational hierarchy changes

·         HR transactions completed by Line Manager

Ian Anderson, HR Director at Bradford & Bingley commented:

“Bradford and Bingley prides itself on being a leading organisation in the UK’s specialist lending market. A responsive HR technology solution is an essential aspect of HR strategy in ensuring that we maintain a leading edge in staff development and associated necessary compliance.

The rapid and efficient deployment of the solution by Application Lynx allows us to provide faster access for employees. In turn, the HR department can improve productivity and overall service whilst reducing administrative requirements.”

The self-service project will support the necessary HR compliance required of financial sector organisations.

In addition, management reporting is enhanced with the ability to update data and increase in the speed at which reports can be requested and received.

Mark Pulling, Managing Director at Application Lynx said:

“We were pleased to have such a positive response from Bradford & Bingley in their decision to expand their strategic work and support on overall business requirements. We have worked with several financial sector organisations and we were able to bring Best Practice knowledge from the outset.

This type of project typically will enable the HR department to better support business needs and integrity of compliance requirements in a sector undergoing constant change.”

“Bradford & Bingley has shown what a leading financial services organisation can achieve in terms of its HR strategic requirements when underpinned by a leading technology solution, said Joe Etienne, Regional Director, Oracle Financial Services.

“The Oracle HCM solution has been successfully implemented by Application Lynx to provide robust support to further enable efficient and proactive HR development in a sector facing constant change.”
