Cable
& Wireless is to outsource much of its HR function to Accenture as part of
a five-year contract announced today worth an estimated £80m.
The
company is also to outsource its accounts receivable function as part of the
deal.
Also
announced today is a new global sales and marketing agreement between the two companies.
E-peopleserve,
acting as a sub-contractor to Accenture, will provide Cable & Wireless with
HR administration, learning and professional development services and assume
the company’s researching and recruiting function.
It
will also handle its payroll services and run its day-to-day HR operations.
More
than 90 HR roles will transfer to e-peopleserve as part of the contract.
Cable
& Wireless is retaining a team of finance and HR professionals to provide
strategic and policy direction, interface with the business and manage the
relationship with Accenture and e-peopleserve.

Avery
Duff, executive vice-president human resources, Cable & Wireless Global,
