Carpetright
is set to create 300 jobs in an expansion drive which will see it open 30 new
stores across the UK, its chairman announced today.
The
group says the move will increase store numbers to 370, and staff numbers to
3,300.

It
plans to open the stores – nine of which have already been open since the
beginning of November – over the next six months.
Chairman
and chief executive Lord Harris claims that the expansion will continue for the
next two to three years with plans to open a further 20 new stores a year.
Pre-tax profits for the six months to 27 October rose 17.2 per cent to £22.3m.
