CIPD approves DPG as the first provider for new qualifications

by Personnel Today 22 Feb 2010
by Personnel Today 22 Feb 2010

DPG plc is the first national Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Centre to gain the CIPD’s approval to deliver the Certificate in HR Practice (which replaces the old Certificate in Personnel Practice) and the Certificate in Learning & Development Practice (which replaces the old Certificate in Training Practice).

In January the CIPD announced the phasing out of their current suite of HR and L&D qualifications to be replaced with a range of new qualifications that meet the demands for flexibility, workplace relevance and the more global nature of HR and Learning & Development.

DPG has used its experience and solid reputation in the market place, including being the largest UK provider of the old CTP qualification, to design highly innovative and leading edge programmes. This allowed the CIPD to make a timely and confident approval of DPG’s planned programmes.

Sarah McEvoy, DPG’s CIPD Programme Manager said on receiving the news “I’m absolutely delighted that DPG is now officially the first CIPD centre to be offering the new CIPD Certificate in L&D Practice and the Certificate in HR Practice.”

“The CIPD reviewers have some really positive and complimentary things to say about the submissions and materials for our new programmes. Of particular note is their acknowledgement of the creative nature of the programme and the effective links we make to CPD.

“It’s been a nail biting few weeks to say the least but it’s all come together and I couldn’t be happier.”

Both these new qualifications are at Level 3 on the NQF and are available nationwide from DPG either as open programmes for individuals or as in company programmes for organisations with six or more participants.
