The cat-nap enjoyed by our continental cousins is gaining popularity with UK workers, research has found.
More than two-thirds of the 4,352 UK workers surveyed by budget hotel chain Travelodge said a siesta during the working day would be beneficial for body and mind.
Almost half of respondents said they would be more productive as a result of 40 winks.
In response to the findings, Travelodge will be installing hammocks at its head office in Oxfordshire so sleepy staff have the option of a short siesta.
