by Personnel Today 19 Mar 2009

Eddie Hodgart has been appointed as a client manager and principal at Mercer.

He will be responsible for managing a portfolio of multinational clients and will also lead a project team charged with bringing innovation to employee benefit programmes and ensuring they continue to meet companies’ business goals.

Based in London, he brings over 20 years of knowledge and experience in helping clients manage their benefit and reward programmes.

Mr Hodgart joins Mercer from KPMG where he was a partner in their People Services business.

He has also previously worked at Sedgwick Noble Lowndes, Towers Perrin and Watson Wyatt in consulting areas that have included corporate pensions advice, and design and delivery of reward programmes and flexible benefit programmes.

Alan Whalley, Mercer’s UK chief executive, commented: “We are delighted to have secured a highly respected and well-connected professional of Eddie’s calibre. He brings a wide range of account management, strategic thinking and technical consulting skills to Mercer.

“One of our strategic aims in 2009 is to enhance our understanding of the business issues that drive clients’ individual HR and employee benefit needs and to deliver innovative and tailored services that lead the market. Eddie is best placed to lead this initiative for us.”
