Manufacturing: Your future aims to give advice to firms about making redundancies and how to remain competitive. Seminars, toolkits and guidance sheets will become available for manufacturers who fear the recession may affect them.
EEF’s chief executive, Gilbert Toppin, said: “Manufacturing output is forecast to fall by 8.6% this year. But, despite this gloomy outlook, we believe the UK’s manufacturers toughened by adversity will rise to the challenge, finding new ways to diversify, innovate and add value. UK manufacturing will ride out this recession, as it has others. And we’ll be there to help.”
