The
Equal Opportunities Commission has developed a website for legal advisers
representing employees who believe they have been discriminated against.
The
EOC site includes information and advice on sexual harassment, maternity and
paternity rights, family-friendly hours, equal pay and recruitment and
selection.
Jenny
Watson, deputy chair of the EOC, said: "Discrimination law is a complex
and constantly changing area. This new site will give all the information
needed to conduct sexual discrimination and equal pay claims. A DTI survey of
employment tribunal applicants in discrimination cases found that 26 per cent
had no representation at any stage of their claim."
