"The climate for occupational health practice in Europe has never been
better," said Charles McGraham, HM inspector of health and safety (OH),
HSE and chair of the UK Royal College of Nursing Occupational Health Nurses’
European Working Group.
In his presentation to conference on the European approach to occupational
health, he told delegates the EU itself is heavily committed to achieving high
standards of health and safety, and to expect any major initiatives to come
from Europe rather than individual national governments.

For this reason, McGraham advised occupational health practitioners to look
out for the latest EU initiatives on health and safety, for instance, Working
on stress, which has been recently published by the European Agency for Health
& Safety.
