Business Service Management (BSM) software specialist FireScope has put in place a strong, experienced management team for its European operations.
Among its recent appointments are:
John Kirkham, Director, FireScope Europe
Kirkham has over 30 years experience in the IT industry with senior executive roles in sales, marketing, services and general management.
Previously, he has run global sales operations, latterly serving as the EVP of Global Sales for Open Text Corporation from 2003 until 2007; VP International of Thomson Enterprise Solutions (2001 – 2003), and VP, International Operations and UK Managing Director for Wave Technologies, Inc. (1994 – 2001).
Before 2001, Kirkham held senior management positions with NETg, a subsidiary of National Education Corporation and Advanced Systems, having previously worked at Ford Motor Company and IBM.
Alastair MacKenzie, Director of EMEA Sales.
MacKenzie has 21 years in the IT Industry, most recently as Head of IBM’s Lotus and Portal Business Unit. After joining IBM Tivoli in 2000, in the early stages of BSM, he has assisted key customers with their service management strategies.
MacKenzie then went on to hold a number of senior management roles across IBM’s software portfolio, principally to the financial service sector.
In addition to these roles, MacKenzie was a mentor and observer to IBM’s Management and Sales Development programmes.
Prior to joining IBM, MacKenzie held sales management roles for Open Text and Northgate Information Solutions (formerly MDIS Group plc).
MacKenzie holds a BSc in Computing Science, Operational Research and Statistics and is a member of the IT Service Management Forum.
Karsten Rosenplenter, Technical Director
Rosenplenter has more than 20 years experience in the industry, and has built a lengthy record of success in senior consultant and management roles in the IT Service Management space with such companies as iXL (UK) Ltd and Computer Associates.
Before joining FireScope, he was instrumental in building Managed Objects Ltd’s European operations.
Fred Hassabi, Advisory Board Member
Hassabi has over 20 years experience in the IT industry – mostly in sales, marketing and general management capacities – working with US-based software companies to expand their businesses outside the US in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
He served as the European sales manager of Dun & Bradstreet software (formerly MSA) at the end of 1980s; then, between 1993 and 1997, he was the general manager of System Software Associates in Southern Europe.
In 1997, he joined Siebel Systems to start up the Southern European operations and, two years later, became the general manager of Siebel EMEA.
After the acquisition of Siebel by Oracle, he joined Endeca, based in Boston, as the head of international operations.
