Former PeopleSoft Europe founders appointed as non-execs at Oracle partner Crocus Consulting

by Personnel Today 19 Nov 2010

As part of its continuing growth strategy, Oracle business solutions company Crocus Consulting (www.crocus-consulting.com) has appointed Steve Swift and Peter Jenkins as Non-Executive Directors. Swift was the first European Vice-President of PeopleSoft with Jenkins as UK Sales Director. They have been working together since forming NewGen (www.newgenassociates.com) over ten years ago; an investment and management consultancy that specialises in helping growth technology companies to expand further.

Crocus is a certified Oracle Gold partner specialising in the licensing, implementation and support of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Financial and Human Capital Management Systems and BI. The company founders, who were managing partners in PeopleSoft’s first implementation partner in Europe, can now deploy over 100 consultants, representing over 1000 man years experience of Oracle solutions.

With continued growth over the last nine years Crocus is now seeking to build upon its continued success. The appointment of Swift and Jenkins is seen as a reflection of this growth together with the need to build an experienced board-level management team as the company celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Commenting upon the appointments Paul Grant Sales Director of Crocus Consulting said, “Oracle’s PeopleSoft solutions are being used by clients to share enterprise information more widely in response to recessionary economic pressures. The same is true of Oracle’s acclaimed BI range. Consequently, we are looking at a growing market that is set to expand.

“As we embrace this expansion, we have decided to strengthen our management team by inviting Steve Swift the ex European Vice President of PeopleSoft Europe and Peter Jenkins the former UK Sales Director to join us. I welcome them to the team.”

Chris Smith Managing Director of Crocus Consulting added; “Steve Swift and Peter Jenkins bring with them considerable  experience of our market and have a proven track record, as NewGen, in taking organisations forward to the next stage of growth. We are delighted to welcome them to the board.”

For his part, Jenkins welcomed these comments adding, “We’re delighted to be involved with an especially successful company focussed on the delivery of effective Oracle PeopleSoft and BI solutions. They have an excellent reputation built upon a prolonged track record of delivering top-flight support and client care. As part of the team we look forward to adding to this successful formula and driving growth further.”

Swift echoes Jenkins comments and believes that the Non-Executive appointments are a natural development for Crocus noting, “These guys were the very first consultants I appointed whilst at PeopleSoft as European Vice-President. From that point forwards they have lead the way and enjoyed unrivalled success. Peter and I are delighted to have been appointed as Non-Executive Directors and look forward to helping the success continue at this time of expansion.”
