Nearly
half the UK workforce is either actively or passively looking for a new job,
according to research by Reed Executive.
The
results from more than 800 interviews in the UK, show that 31 per cent of employees
are passively job seeking by staying aware of the job market. An additional 14
per cent are taking a more active role.
Those
aged between 25 and 34 are the most aware of new opportunities, with 58 per
cent job seeking.
Young
people are the most likely to be actively seeking new jobs, with nearly a
quarter of workers aged 18 to 25 trying to change jobs.

Men
are also more in touch with the job market than women, with 52 per cent of men
either passively or actively job seeking compared to 37 per cent of women.
However,
this declines in both sexes as people get older. While 44 per cent of those
aged between 45 and 54 are aware of new opportunities, the figure drops to just
17 per cent among those aged 55 to 64. www.reed.co.uk
