HDA believe flexibility is key to meeting the needs of todays workforce

by Personnel Today 12 Dec 2008
by Personnel Today 12 Dec 2008

HDA, with 30 years human capital and career consultancy experience, believes that a one size fits all approach to career transition fails to meet the diverse needs of today’s workforce – our philosophy is simple: flexibility in meeting client needs is key.

As such, we are constantly on the ‘look out’ for talented individuals who can add value to our team.

With this in mind, we are pleased to announce two new appointments, Peter Gerrett & Alan Hockey, to the ‘Career Management Team’ to deliver career review and outplacement / career transition services.

Paul Gerrett has specialised in career coaching and talent management for over 10 years, building on a career in Human Resources and Learning and Development.

Much of his career was in a corporate environment in telecommunications and with particular experience in a sales environment.

Among his achievements, Paul has successfully implemented programmes in career management for high potential individuals, succession planning, graduate recruitment and development and performance management.

Paul couples his facilitation and coaching skills with his experience and knowledge of recruitment and assessment and understanding of the business environment to provide practical career support.

He adopts a flexible approach in working to help people achieve their goals, both with groups and on a one to one basis.

His success comes from building good relationships, adopting a challenging but supportive style, and a focus on results.

Alan Hockey is an experienced, mature and highly professional Career Management and Outplacement Consultant with a proven track record in all aspects of proactive support.

His expertise is in the delivery of both one-to-one and group career transition coaching at all levels, utilising his strong business acumen to provide individual support and practical advice to achieve successful client outcomes.

Alan began his outplacement career with British Coal Enterprise working on the pit closures in the Midlands where some 25,000 miners lost their jobs.

Jo Simpson, Managing Career Consultant, says ‘the test of whether our services are value adding is a. whether our individual clients are settled into a new role, into self employment or into a portfolio career by the end of their respective programmes, and whether they believe that we have added tangible value during their career transition process.

With this in mind, it is key that we regularly add experienced and versatile talent to our career consulting team; in particular given the busy market we are operating in.’
