The
boss of Japanese car firm Honda has reportedly stated that UK car plant workers
are better than those in his own country.
According
to newspaper reports Takeo Fukui, the president and chief executive of Honda,
said the standard of British workmanship was excellent and better than in
Japan.
The
quality of British-made Honda cars is now so great that they are being exported
back to Japan to be sold in the company’s home market.

The
company’s UK factories have recently increased productivity, especially at
Swindon which now makes more than 210,000 cars each year.
