resources still has little influence on major boardroom decision-making,
despite the mountains of research extolling the business benefits of HR staff
sitting on the board.
An
online poll of Personnel Today readers on PersonnelToday.com revealed that 85
per cent of respondents felt HR wasn’t involved in running the business at the
highest level.

The
survey of 123 HR professionals was even more damning than an earlier report by
Richmond Events’ HR Forum, in which 52 per cent of HR directors said they had
limited influence at board level.
