Informed workforce improves bottom-line performance

Employers
must link personnel policies to business competitiveness by effectively
communicating their strategies to their workforce according to an HR
consultancy.

Speaking
at a breakfast seminar on ‘Offensive People Strategy’ Kevin Green, Qtab’s
managing director, claims HR professionals can play a key role in designing and
delivering the strategic role of the company to its employees.

“The
competitive advantage in business comes from employees contributing to the
strategic development of the company. Staff need to participate in the
strategic debate and HR can play a role in this by encouraging open forums
where all the employees can contribute ideas about developing the company,” he
said.

Green
believes that over the next 5-10 years, organisations need to think about the
welfare of their employees and emotionally engage the workforce in order to
improve the productivity of the company.
