Change managementHR strategy

Interim Performers announce three new hires

by Personnel Today 1 Aug 2008
by Personnel Today 1 Aug 2008

Interim Performers has announced the appointment of former Recruitment Manager from the Financial Services Authority, Stephen Daynes as well as two experienced specialist Consultants, James Scorer and Rachel Mackenzie, to join their public sector offering.

The FSA is the sole regulator of the UK financial services and insurance industry.

Stephen managed the HE Graduate and Experienced Hire recruitment and was responsible for design of recruitment tools and initiatives in order to deliver the strategic aims of the organisation.

Previously he was Head of Resourcing for BDO Stoy Hayward (Chartered Accountants) and European Resourcing Manager for Blockbuster Entertainment after starting his career in Recruitment Consultancy.

Stephen is Savill and Holdsworth accredited and has 19 years of Recruitment and in-house Recruitment Management experience in total, which will be an invaluable resource for the Interim Performers HR team

In Stephen’s words; he is joining Interim Performers because,

“having worked with them as a supplier in my previous roles, I knew that they were the kind of quality driven specialist organisation I wanted to be associated with.

“Working in a consultancy role again, my extensive experience of working within the HR function of large organisations will enhance my ability to provide solutions to clients.”

James Scorer joins Interim Performers from the Hydrogen Group, where his primary focus was middle management to senior level Public Sector recruitment.

His successes came from placing Interim Managers in the Consultancy, Outsourcing and Government security cleared areas, where his clients included Steria, Unisys  the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP),  the Foreign and Commonwealth office (FCO) and the Department for Education and Skills (DfES).

James wanted to join Interim Performers, “due to their professionalism, focus and approach as well as possessing a wealth of industry experience. As a result, Interim Performers’ capability and solution providing services are impressive and something I wanted to be a part of going forward.”

James will use his Public Sector experience to focus on recruiting Interim Managers into central government organisations. He joins Michael Younger on the established Interim Performers Public Sector team.

Rachel Mackenzie has a Psychology degree and is a member of The British Psychological Society.

She joins Interim Performers from F1 recruitment, where she worked on internal and external communications roles including search proposals for senior executives.

However the majority of Rachel’s experience has been in the Public Sector. During 8 years working with Hays, she built up two successful public sector teams, firstly in Leeds and then again in London and the South East, primarily focusing on interim and contract appointments, which will be really useful in Rachel’s new role on our interim HR public sector team.

Rachel explained:

“I joined Interim Performers as I have 8 years experience of recruiting within the Public Sector and was keen to move back into that area, I enjoy working with people who are passionate about project work and in making a difference.

“The new challenge for me is the HR industry and I am hungry to learn as much about the area as possible, having worked within IT and Marketing I will now relish this new sector!”

Both Rachel Mackenzie and James Scorer will be working with the Catalist Framework, to which Interim Performers have been awarded an Interim Management agreement.

Catalist is a series of framework agreements, which have been developed to offer Public Sector customers a broad range of goods and services aligned to their particular needs.

Procurement through Catalist eliminates the need to go through the lengthy process of OJEU tendering, whilst complying with EU procurement legislation.
