A management buy-out of Yorkshire textile firm Naylor
Jennings from its parent company Coats Viyella has safeguarded more than 100
jobs in the company.
The T&G union collaborated with senior management in
Naylor Jennings to rescue the firm from closure.
“Instead of being informed of sackings and consulted on how
to sack people in double quick time, rescue plans such as Naylor Jennings show
us the benefit of allowing time for proper consultation based on real
information so companies can find alternatives to closures,” said Peter Booth,
T & G national organiser for manufacturing.
