Leading HR experts advise how to manage talent in a downturn

With the economy in tatters and unemployment at its highest since 1997, human resource (HR) professionals are faced with what could be the biggest challenge of their careers – successfully managing and motivating staff that are likely to be feeling dejected and extremely vulnerable.

To help HR professionals succeed in this challenge, they are being invited to a free Executive Briefing ‘How to Prosper in a Downturn – the New Reality for HR’, where leading HR gurus will provide practical guidance on how to manage talent during a downturn.

This COA Solutions sponsored Executive Briefing is taking place at the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 13:30 – 16:30 on 20 May 2009.

Leading author and commentator on HR and management issues, Richard Donkin, will outline how organisations should manage talent in a downturn, exploring the difficult issues of how to motivate staff in an environment that may also include restructuring and staff reductions.

Attendees will also gain valuable insight and practical tips from one of Europe’s leading experts on human capital measurement, Rick Emslie. Rick will explain how successful organisations have used HR analytics to measure, monitor, benchmark and improve HR performance when times are hard.
