Met Police Authority chief under investigation for race discrimination

Metropolitan Police Authority chief executive Catherine Crawford is under investigation following claims that she discriminated against black officers and failed to properly carry out her duties.

An independent investigation is being carried out by the Metropolitan Black Police Association, which accused Crawford of a “failure to truly hold to account” her senior staff over race and religious discrimination and equality of opportunity.

A Commons home affairs select committee yesterday revealed that black and ethnic minority police officers continue to face discrimination in the workplace.
