Milkround.com launches UniLeague fantasy football in association with The Sun £1 Million Dream Team

by Personnel Today 12 Aug 2009

Students and graduates will put their fantasy football management skills to the test for the chance to win £3,000 in the Milkround.com UniLeague.

The UK’s No1 graduate recruitment website Milkround.com has teamed up with The Sun to create the UniLeague, a unique UK university fantasy football game. Part of The Sun £1 Million Dream Team game, the UniLeague gives Milkround.com users the chance to go head-to-head as well as represent their institution in a university league.

Only Milkround.com registered users are eligible for the first ever UniLeague, and they also benefit from a discount voucher code for 25 percent off standard entry of £5 to the Dream Team game. All they have to do is log onto the UniLeague page on Milkround.com to claim their code; their reward could be a massive first prize of £250,000 as Dream Team champion.

This collaboration with The Sun will see Milkround.com benefit from increased  traffic as students and graduates log on to track their progress in the UniLeauge, paving the way for on-site advertisers to gain greater exposure for their vacancies. It’s one of a number of initiatives Milkround.com is working on with its News International sister companies to share expertise and add value for users.

Another collaboration will culminate in the launch of graduatecareer.com in September, an essential guide to the graduate job market compiled by Milkround.com and Times Online. A free supplement will be included in The Times on Wednesday, September 16th and replicated online. Graduatecareer will feature The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers Table 2009 – 2010, news from the graduate jobs market, a job hunting timeline and advice on applications, assessment centres and video CV’s.

Candidate Marketing Manager Chloe Burgess said: “I’m delighted to be offering our database of more than 500,000 students and graduates the chance to enter the UniLeague. We hope this fun alternative to job hunting will enable us to build even stronger relationships with students and their universities, especially throughout the season as students battle it out to prove they are the top fantasy football manager individually and as part of their university team.”

Sales Director Jenni Wollerton added: “Graduatecareer gives our clients the chance to build on their advertising with the UK’s number one graduate recruitment website with additional opportunities to promote their company to the best candidates. The supplement and website will be vital reading for students, graduates and parents alike – all intent on knowing what top companies are recruiting and how to go about getting in touch. Clients won’t want to miss this opportunity to target such a key audience.”
