Milkround Online launches £1 million advertising campaign with immediate success

by Personnel Today 16 May 2008
by Personnel Today 16 May 2008

Milkround Online, the graduate recruitment specialist, is toasting the launch of an unprecedented £1 million advertising campaign with success from day one.

The campaign kicked off in the pages of the national press with a five-page wrap on thelondonpaper for Second Post, its jobsite for experienced graduates.

Centred on the tagline “Where are you going?”, the innovative campaign used tube line imagery and a brave red and white style to ask Londoners and its commuters whether their career was on track. The response was immediate.

The eye-catching wrap increased visits to the site by 80 percent over two days and brought in FOUR times as many new registrations against the same period last week.

The average number of page views was also up by an incredible 215 percent.

Milkround Online expects Second Post site traffic and registrations to continue to rise as it builds on this initial success in other publications, giving more exposure to its clients and aiding their search for experienced graduates to fill their vacancies.

But it doesn’t stop there.

The £1 million campaign will also feature a candidate push across all Milkround Online’s other brands: the student and graduate recruitment website Milkround.com, the equal opportunities driven Diversity Milkround and postgraduate course comparison site Further Study Milkround.

Managing Director Tom Hughes said: “I’m delighted to have launched such an ambitious national press campaign with results from day one. The immediate success of our Second Post campaign proves we are dedicated to providing the best candidates for our clients through exposure in leading publications such as thelondonpaper. I’m excited by the future potential of this £1 million campaign as we spread beyond London and step up our advertising onto a national stage.”

The national press advertising campaign comes as two of Milkround Online’s jobsites continue to enjoy growth as key specialist graduate recruitment sites.

Second Post remains the market leader for employers looking to specifically target graduates with professional experience, while Milkround.com is building on its position as a leading UK graduate recruitment website.

Tom Hughes added: “Milkround Online is set to go from strength to strength this year, putting clients in direct contact with the candidates they need. Whether it is students for placements or internships, graduates finding their feet in an industry or those with professional experience to fill vital roles, Milkround Online will bring results.”
