Nominations have opened for an inaugural awards ceremony set to showcase major human resources achievements in the North of Scotland.
The Urquhart Partnership’s cHeRries Awards 2008 are organised by the Aberdeen-based training, human resource, and recruitment consultancy’s associate event management company, cushydoos, with Aberdeen Business School – Robert Gordon University, as the main sponsor.
The awards have six categories: outstanding HR director – sponsored by the Aberdeen Business School; excellent HR manager; fantastic HR advisor; exemplary HR team; extraordinary initiative in HR and the cHeRries Blossoming Award.
The cHeRries Blossoming Award, sponsored by the Urquhart Partnership, aims to recognise new talent. The winner will receive full funding from the consultancy to complete their professional studies with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Karen Reid, Business Development Director, cushydoos, said: “We believe this is the first major award ceremony of its kind in the North-east of Scotland and it’s an excellent opportunity to reward the hard work over the past year of the ‘people behind the people’ in local organisations.
“Those looking for a ‘bite of the cHeRries’ can nominate themselves, their team, or other individuals. Businesses are also able to underline their commitment to good HR practice by sponsoring an award or attending the awards ceremony itself.”
The closing date for entries is February 4th, 2008 and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Marcliffe Hotel, Aberdeen, on May 29th.
Those wishing to nominate an individual or team, sponsor a specific award or attend the ceremony should contact Laura McHardy, cushydoos Events and Marketing Co-ordinator, on 01224 651815. Nomination forms and further information are available online at www.upcherries.com
