The Institute of Directors has announced that Noel Guilford has been
appointed vice-chairman of the North West region. Guilford has 25 years’
experience as a chartered accountant, and is a member of the Securities
Institute and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and
Wales.

Contact management provider Echo Managed Services has appointed Jonathan
Potter as its new HR director. He has experience of HR roles at companies
including British Aerospace, JD Williams and Ferranti. The main focus of his
new role will be the management of the south Staffordshire contract.
Rita Sammons has become a director at SOLACE Enterprise – the commercial arm
of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives. She joins from Hampshire
County Council, where she was personnel and training officer for 12 years.
Sammons joined the council in 1991 as chief personnel officer. She has also
served as the president of Socpo, and is currently vice-president for employee
relations at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
