Law firm Wedlake Bell has strengthened its employment, pensions and share
scheme group with the appointment of Jo Pawley as partner. She was brought in
to give the company more experience around industrial relations issues. Prior
to joining Wedlake Bell she worked as the senior employment lawyer at British
Airways.

Nick Barter has been hired to launch Britain’s first Automotive Academy.
Barter, the former product development chief of Jaguar and Land Rover, will be
head of the new national centre of learning for workers in the automotive
industry. The academy will provide a range of learning and development courses
to help build skills in component development and manufacturing.
Karen Dorrington has joined property consultants Capita as resourcing and
development manager. She has previously held HR positions at the Criminal
Records Bureau, Woolwich, Guardian Royal Exchange and Eurotel. Her main role
will involve implementation of a competency framework to support performance
management systems and initiatives. She will also be developing training and
recruitment programmes to facilitate the company’s growth.
