Charlotte Rayner has joined the University
of Portsmouth as professor of HR
management at the Portsmouth Business
School. Rayner
is one of the UK’s leading authorities on bullying in the workplace.
Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has
appointed Michael Evans as managing director and head of HR. Evans joins the
firm from General Electric, where he was senior vice-president of global HR for
GE Capital’s Commercial Equipment Financing business.

Derrick Anderson, chief executive of Wolverhampton City Council, has been
appointed as the Home Office’s diversity champion for race, gender and
disability issues. Anderson will be working closely with the Home Office
permanent secretary, John Gieve, to deliver a new
five-year staff race and diversity programme.
Littlewoods Stores has announced the appointment
of Andrew Ayers as head of HR and training. Ayers joins
from Arcadia, where he was head of
HR and management development for more than three years.
