Charles Nolda, former executive director of the Employers’ Organisation for Local Government, has been elected to lead the negotiating committee of the European public sector employers’ federation, CEEP. As president of its social affairs committee, Nolda will be the voice of public sector employers throughout Europe.
Mercer Oliver Wyman, the risk management consultancy, has announced the appointment of Jean-Philippe Montagne as director of human capital. Montagne’s responsibilities span the full spectrum of recruiting and HR activities for the firm’s 700 employees.
Financial services company Scottish Widows has appointed Kate Guthrie as HR director. She joins from Novar-tis Pharma, where she was UK HR director, and will also take on the role of HR director for the insurance and investment division of Lloyds TSB, Scottish Widows’ parent company. Guthrie has more than 20 years’ experience in a variety of HR roles.
Kim Miller has joined wines and spirits business Brown-Forman as manager of international HR. She joins from Atkins Plc, a large engineering consulting firm in the UK, where she has been head of international HR responsible for employees globally. Prior to that, Miller spent 22 years at Balfour Beatty in various UK and international HR roles.
