The kind hearts and compassion of staff have helped Wolverhampton-based Paycare strike Gold in an initiative that will benefit charities and local communities alike.
Paycare has been awarded a Gold standard in the Payroll Giving Quality Mark Scheme, run by the Government’s Institute of Fundraising, which encourages employees to donate contributions to good causes through a tax effective salary deduction scheme.
Obtaining Gold standard is a highly notable achievement in its own right because it means that at least 10 percent of an organisation’s employees are participating, but in Paycare’s case it’s a staggering 50 percent.
Chief executive of Paycare Liz Price said: “What a remarkable result for us. I never doubted the generosity of our workforce but to achieve such a phenomenal take up on such a worthy scheme is a fantastic achievement. I’m so proud of our staff.”

The Payroll Giving Quality Mark Scheme is a win/win initiative for charities for it enables employers like Paycare to match employee giving, thus doubling the value of donations.
Employees choose for themselves the charity that they wish to support and receive 40 percent tax relief on each donation made.
