Mobile
phone retailer Phones 4U is to launch an employee training academy to improve
the personal development of its 3,500 employees.
Speaking
at the annual Phones 4U staff conference, owner and chief executive John Caudwell pledged a £5m investment
in new facility, to provide leading edge coaching and development.
At
the new Midlands-based building, managers will be given additional people
skills training and all staff will be trained in operational procedures. It
follows recent customer excellence training for all Phones 4U employees.
Bill
Tolmie, formerly head of
training at Singlepoint,
has been appointed by Caudwell
to head the academy.
In
addition to the £5m investment, Caudwell
also announced a further £500,000 available to staff as incentives.
