Postal workers debate strike action over pensions

Thousands
of postal workers are deciding whether to strike in a bid to stop their jobs
being contracted out to a private firm.

The
Communications Workers Union said staff who deliver cash and stamps to post
offices across Britain will vote at the end of the month, and the results will
be known by mid-November.

Consignia
announced last month that is planned to outsource its cash-handling operation
to security company Securicor.

Workers
say they are scared pay, conditions and pensions would suffer under the deal.
