Principal Hayley’s great family escape giveaway

by Personnel Today 3 Sep 2009
by Personnel Today 3 Sep 2009

Upscale hotel group Principal Hayley, whose properties include The Met in Leeds, The George in Edinburgh, The Royal York Hotel in York and Hotel Russell in London today gave away a staggering 500 family breaks across the collection as part of a major employee incentive scheme to reward staff for all their hard work and dedication during the first half of the year.

All employees who have been with the company for 12 months continuous service were eligible for the prize draw to win a Family Activity Break – a new type of break launched by the group this summer. Today 500 members of staff across the company are celebrating their unexpected win!

As well as rewarding service, the scheme was looking to get feedback from staff on the newly launched Principal Hayley Family Breaks Packages. Starting from just £249 for a family of up to four for 2 nights, this new venture for Principal Hayley provides excellent value two, three and four night family breaks with dinner, bed and breakfast, child supervision in a brand new kids activity club, packed lunches and a free night’s stay for mum and dad later this year.

Gail Hunter, HR Director for the Principal Hayley Group commented “Our colleagues have all worked incredibly hard in 2009. Despite the challenging economic conditions, we have rolled out a £2.5 million new IT system, officially launched  our first Spanish hotel near Barcelona, unveiled restoration of a 19th Century chapel in Old Windsor, entered into a joint venture with The Oakley Court in Windsor and just six weeks ago acquired the New Connaught Rooms in Central London and the Glasgow Central Hotel in Glasgow. Even colleagues who do not have families are eligible for the scheme so long as they meet the criteria.  We like to encourage as many of our employees as possible to visit other hotels within the group and believe this is an excellent way of them gaining a wider understanding of what Principal Hayley has to offer, as well as rewarding them for a job well done!”

Family breaks are avaialable at: Cranage Hall in Cheshire, Kenwood Hall in Sheffield, Eastwood Hall in Nottingham, Ettington Chase in Stratford-upon-Avon, Horwood House in Buckinghamshire, Selsdon Park in Surrey and Beaumont House in Old Windsor.
