The
Staffordshire-based Punch Pub Company is using interactive television to find
new recruits to run its leased and tenanted chain of pubs.
Its
latest vacancies will feature on the home page of The Job Channel, giving
access to an audience of 18 million through the Sky, NTL and Telewest
interactive TV platforms. Â
Potential
publicans can use their TV remote control to apply directly to the Punch Pub
Company, or request that details be sent to their mobile as a text message, or
e-mailed to their PC. Â
Applicants
will be able to access background information on entering the licensed trade,
pub lease and tenancy agreements. They will also be able to find out about
training schemes run by the firm, which owns 4,400 pubs throughout the UK.
Stuart
Plant, Punch Pub Company’s training and recruitment manager, said using
interactive TV was the logical next step following the development of a
successful recruitment website.
"We
have always aimed to market business opportunities in the licensed trade to as
wide an audience as possible," he said.
