by Personnel Today 19 Feb 2009

Redtray, the true blended learning company, has expanded its e-learning capabilities through a merger with Academy Internet, the custom e-learning division of AI Digital based in Brighton.

Terms of the deal are not disclosed.

Redtray can now extend its wide range of blended learning solutions to Academy Internet’s high profile blue-chip clients, all of which have shown their enthusiasm and support for the merger by transferring their contracts to REDTRAY with immediate effect.

The Academy Internet team will continue to operate from their existing base in Brighton.

Bob Woodland, ceo of Redtray said:

“I am delighted to welcome the AI Digital e-learning business into the Redtray Group. Our new clients can now draw on the greater economies of scale, development power and breadth of learning solutions that we can offer.

“It’s a challenging market and we are always on the lookout for dynamic and innovative companies that can become part of our successful portfolio.”

Mike Ditchburn, Managing Director of the e-Learning Division at Redtray adds:

“The team at Academy Internet have a strong heritage of delivering highly creative e-Learning solutions. The prospect of extending our capabilities and knowledge-base is very exciting, and will ensure that we continually deliver innovative solutions to our clients.”

The strategic decision to merge with Redtray was taken at the end of 2008.

“Redtray is one the UK’s leaders in training provision for global organisations,” confirms Jason Woodford, Chief Executive of AI Digital.

“We selected Redtray over a number of potential offers based on their commitment to our customers, to our staff and their vision for the future of e-learning. I was particularly impressed by their strategy and management style.”

AI Digital Ltd will now focus on the development of its successful Search Engine Marketing business known as SiteVisibility.

Richard Middleton, Managing Director of Academy Internet said:

“Redtray offers a unique opportunity for Academy Internet to continue to deliver the high quality, creative and highly effective digital learning and communications that our clients expect from us.

“We now have the added support of a large, established and fast-growing blended learning provider which will enhance our ability to meet and exceed our clients’ digital learning requirements, from strategic guidance to large-scale projects.
